I’ve decided to evaluate and improve upon a previous PowerPoint Presentation I had created in a previous class for my Assignment 3 submission. The presentation outlines a proposed application that would allow users to easily search for healthy dietary alternatives in the form of recipes which contain all the necessary nutritional information you would want to consider in creating a meal plan. After analyzing my original presentation, I had found some sections I would be able to revise/edit to make my presentation more in-line with the multimedia principles I’ve learned throughout this course.

I’ve included a Fishbone Diagram in the first slide to better visualize the information and give better context to the purpose of the presentation. I’ve followed the Spatial Contiguity principle by adding a visual diagram that corresponds with the presented text on the 1st  slide. For the portion of the presentation that is the walkthrough of the proposed mobile application I’ve cut out multiple slides. By doing this I removed the extraneous information having to do with account creation and kept the necessary slides outlining the functionality of the prototype. This follows the Coherence principle as the presentation itself concerns how to make healthy dietary choices and the information being shared should reflect that and remain focused and on-topic.

For the 7th and 9th slides of the updated presentation I’ve adhered to the Signaling principle by using colored text to group information together and make the slides more readable at first glance. I’ve also added in text boxes so that the reader is able to see what information is grouped together instead of being presented with only a wall of text in the 7th slide. On the 8th slide I’ve updated the budgetary allotment to be represented by a pie chart instead of through text as it makes the information more digestible to the reader and representing a budget using a visual component makes it more easily interpreted at first glance keeping in-line with the user focused viewpoints of the Core Multimedia Skills.
